After 2 singles and a publishing deal from Warner Chappell, John Stammers released his long awaited debut LP on Wonderfulsound. Along with a handful of musicians John created a British record of songs and feelings influenced by his past, his family heritage and his life in Chorlton in Manchester. Time was spent on following John’s vision of a proper record release. The studio sessions were recorded direct to tape, the tapes were cut straight to the lathe via John Dent and the finished vinyl was put in a home manufactured sleeve silk screened by Yasmin Momoniat.
May 2013, and John Stammers, his wonderful band and myself setup at Eve studios in Manchester for his second album. The album is largely recorded live straight onto a 1970’s Studer 8 track 1″ tape machine. As before, John is keen to keep the record 100% analogue, which provides technical challenges, but also a wonderful warmth and immediacy to all the recordings.
The album is almost fully mixed, of course onto tape, and will be mastered as before straight to lathe, keeping the final vinyl album 100% analogue without any digital process along the way.
The first single is due by the end of the year, and the album will follow early in the new year.
